URBANA -- Checking in at the polls just got easier. Election judges in Champaign County are now being trained on new equipment.
All 100-polling places will use new laptops to check voters in. When you show up to cast your vote, a judge will search for you by name, address or birthdate.
When they find your record, they'll verify your registration and make sure you get the correct ballot. A federal grant paid for all laptops and new equipment.
