More Money for Universities

Updated: February 23, 2007
More state money could be pumped into the U of I. The Illinois Board of Higher Ed approved a budget this week that includes more money for universities up by 1.5% next year. That's about an extra $10.5 million for the University of Illinois. $4 million would go to the Urbana-Champaign campus. Universities say they need more money to pay for faculty and staff salaries and higher power bills.
