School renovations move forward

DANVILLE -- An elementary school is one step closer to getting a makeover. Wednesday night the school board approved architectural plans including energy-efficient windows and updating the cafeteria. 

The board also voted to start taking bids on the project. It won't approve a contract for a construction company until December. The project will cost about $12 million.

DANVILLE -- The school board votes Wednesday night whether to move forward on the district's third building renovation. Members will decide if final plans for East Park Elementary should move forward.

Architects plan to add a sloped roof, energy-efficient windows and a new HVAC system. The cafeteria would also be updated. The project is estimated to cost between $11-12 million.
