Schools benefit from high-speed grant

COLES COUNTY -- Two area colleges will get grant money to help fund high-speed internet and find creative ways to use it. Lake Land College in Mattoon and Eastern Illinois University will both receive more than $30,000 from Broadband Illinois.

The schools are two of more than a dozen recipients of the grant. Broadband Illinois is a non-profit which helps provide access to high-speed internet and maximize its usage.
