Area teachers recognized by state

CHAMPAIGN -- Four people from the Champaign School District won awards from the State Board of Education.

Christine Adrian got the Classroom Teacher Award of Excellence. She teaches at Jefferson Middle School. She's also a finalist for Teacher of the Year.

Patricia Shapely earned a Community Volunteer Award. Shayonna Reid won an Educational Service Award. Asia Fuller-Hamilton got the School Administrator Award of Excellence. All three teach at Booker T. Washington Academy.
