MATTOON -- Two Kids to Know prove they can help others, and so can you! Sisters Silvey and Ginger Gardner are on a mission.

The 12- and 9-year olds started a collection drive called "Every Can Counts." They're trying to get everyone in town to save aluminum cans and bring them to Harris Metals Recycling. Then, instead of taking cash, the girls want you to leave it in an account for the Mattoon Community Food Center.

The money will help stock empty shelves at the food bank. The girls have been working hard collecting cans, but they can't reach their goal of $300 without your help.

They picked that amount because it would pay for an entire truckload of food. They want to have it there by Thanksgiving.
