Police search for missing woman

SPRINGFIELD -- Illinois State Police issued an endangered missing person alert for a 75-year-old woman with dementia.

Barbara A. Smith was last seen at her home in the 3600 block of Wexford Dr. in Springfield at 11:30 am Monday. Police say she is driving a silver Mercedes Benz 420 with Illinois license plate G826502.

Smith is a white woman, 5'6", with gray hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing glasses, a black sweater and tan or black pants. Police believe she may be headed for Aviston.
