CHAMPAIGN -- The Illini Soccer Team took on the Michigan State Spartans Thursday. But, before either team took the field, they took time to acknowledge an important tissue.

The game was dedicated to raising awareness about cancer. Fans wore colored ribbons to represent the different kinds of the disease.

Both teams released balloons to honor loved ones who lost their battles. The Illini also took the time to remember a long-time UI employee who died from cancer last month.
