Deer deaths on the rise

SPRINGFIELD -- As hunters take to the fields, they're finding many of the deer already dead. It's from blue tongue disease.

More than 2,000 cases have already been reported in Illinois. State experts say it's more than they've
ever seen.

It's all because of the dry summer. Blue tongue is spread through gnats, but it does not affect humans. Macon County is one of the hardest hit areas statewide.
