Licenses for military members

Updated: October 8, 2012

SPRINGFIELD -- Some members of the military could have an easier time getting a job. A new bill would let them use military training in place of traditional training.

It includes qualifications for things like driving trucks. Right now, even if a member of the military drives a semi-truck in the military, he or she still has to go through state training to get a regular trucking license.

Military personnel say it's a waste of time since they are already qualified. Supporters say this would be a practical way to return them to the workforce faster.
