Renewing FOID at DMV?

ROCHESTER -- You may be able to renew your FOID card faster if one lawmaker gets his way. Representative Richard Morthland (R-Moline) wants to tie it to driver's licences.

It would state on the back if you're a card holder. Then, when it's time to renew, you could go to a driver's license facility.

Currently, you have to send it in the mail and it takes up to three months to get back. Gun owners say it's frustrating to wait that long. Supporters say it will also save teh state money on shipping and overtime costs.
