STRASGBURG/STEWARDSON -- AT&T says cell service is up and running. Thursday, people in those communities said they had no cell service and calls to the company didn't help.

AT&T says they made a mistake when they stated there was no problem. A spokesperson says they did, in fact, have a lot of complaints reported from the communities.

The spokesperson says technicians tested the network Friday, and and now it's working fine. Here's why people in the Strasburg/Stewardson area haven't had service for the past month: AT&T has been working on sites in Effingham.

Technicians were repairing hardware and ran into a glitch that threw off the communities' network. But. the spokeswoman says the problem has been fixed.

An AT&T spokeswoman sent us this message:

We have completed work on network enhancements in the Stewardson-Strasburg area and
voice and data service has been restored. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience
    they experienced.

If you're still experiencing problems, AT&T says if you turn your phone off and back on again and it should work fine.
