ASHMORE -- The health department is trying to determine what sent more than 50 kids home sick. The Coles County Health Department is waiting on lab results, but employees tell us they believe it's norovirus. It's a bad form of the flu.

51 kids went home sick Wednesday from Ashmore Elementary School. The health department says the virus didn't spread through food prep, but believe it started with one person and spread throughout the school and town. 57 kids were still absent Friday.
