Better Business Bureau warns about phone scams

WCIA-3 -- Cell phones make it easy for friends and family to stay in touch. But they also make it easy for criminals.

This month, the Better Business Bureau is warning consumers to be on the look out for trouble. It says millions of calls and text messages are sent everyday aiming to separate you from your money. It says voter surveys offering a free cruise and money from Washington to help pay your utility bills are among the most common scams criminals are trying.

Click here to see other common scams. And experts remind consumers never give out your personal information and if an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is.
