FARMER CITY --   In Our Town, Mindy Gardner is a blacksmith. She's known around town and around the world for her chasing.

A few years ago, Gardner got a letter from the Governor's Office. The late Lura-Lynn Ryan asked her to make an ornament on behalf of the state of Illinois for the White House. She got to meet Mrs. Bush and see her ornament hanging in the President's home.

Gardner is in the process of writing a book on her methods of blacksmithing. She's already made a few appearances in books, putting Our Town on the map.
