Officers Warn: Snow Still a Driving Hazard
Updated: February 18, 2007
CHAMPAIGN - There's no new snowfall on the roadways today, but area police say the dangers of driving with huge piles of snow along city street shouldn't be ignored.
Officers say the 13 plus inches of snowfall really add up when piled along roadways and it's creating a hazard at intersections.
Police say they've seen some accidents and several near misses because the mounds of snow are creating an obstacle for drivers to see around.
They say use extra caution until this week’s warmer temperatures melt down some of those snow piles.
