The Barrel Head Reopens

Updated: February 16, 2007
A Springfield favorite is open.. nearly a year after tornados tore it apart.. its now completely re-built and loyal customers are glad to have it back. It was so damaged that the owner Kevin Davlin decided to tear it down.. and rebuild. When you walk through the door customers say they like what they see. "I think he built back evidently something bigger and better and so it will probably wind up being something for the good" said customer Charles Robbins. Davlin says hes amazed and ecstatic that its finally opening day..because its been a long haul. "It was an expensive.. hard task. And the best part was getting to rehire back the employees" said Davlin. He says he had to let go of most of his staff after the tornados. But dont worry.. its still the same menu.. Loyal customers have missed sinking their teeth into some old favorites. "Weve been going through withdrawls since the tornados last year" said customer Scott Elwell. And smokers wont have withdrawls.. because the Barrel Head is technically in Jerome.. they can still light up. But unlike the old Barrel Head.. the new restaurant does have a non-smoking session. Adding to a slightly new atmosphere. Eventhough this building is entirely new.. many things inside here are from the old barrel head. Many of the tables.. chairs and wall decorations all survived the tornados.
