High school band hits all the right notes

MAHOMET -- An award-winning band is making all of these musicians, Kids to Know. Our Town Mahomet may not realize it, but it has one of the best high school bands in the country right in its own backyard.
Nearly 200-students make up the Mahomet-Seymour High School Band. They're practicing right now for the football season. They're also getting ready for a new competition at Illinois State University in the fall.
The band is no stranger to tough competitions. They went to the Fiesta Bowl last year, and won first in their class.
These kids aren't resting on their laurels though. They're stepping up the show constantly and what they've put together this year is the hardest one to date.
