MAHOMET -- In Our Town's library, you'll find more than just books and computers. WCIA-3's Megan Brilley shows us how workers there are giving one man a fresh start.

"I'm just trying to build things back up again."

Mike Dagg has been coming here everyday for the past year, but not to read his favorite books.

"I've been unemployed, so I don't really have much to do but look for work."

He's been without a job for three years now.

"I was fully  homeless for the first part of July. Finding places to pitch a ten."

The library has become his second home and employees are now good friends.

"Very, very nice. Very welcoming. They know me by name now."

He spends his days here, in this corner of the library, desperately trying to find work.

"I'm just trying to build things back up again."

The library has been around since 1966.

"There are so many things that can enrich people's lives in this building."

It's easy to see this building as only a library, but sometimes, if you look a little deeper, you'll find people, who use it to bounce back when tough times hit.

"I just like the place. It's great. It's a major convenience."

After speaking with him, Dagg got the phone call he was hoping for; a job interview.

"I'm hopeful."

After 15-years and 3-referenda, the new library opened two years ago. For Mike Dagg, it was well worth the wait.
