We are lucky to have the services that are provided by the National Weather Service and the Storm Prediction Center. These organizations are on duty 24/7 monitoring the weather, and keeping us advised and warned about the possibility and immediate threat of severe weather. That is not the case in Great Britain. TORRO is a privately funded severe weather research group that monitors severe weather in the British Isles. They also issue tornado watches, but they are not much like the ones we are used to. They are issued for much longer periods of time, and over very large areas. This tornado watch was issued this morning, and it contains a lot of standard severe weather language. Check out the last line of the text, though. Funny? Scary? Both? You decide.

Nothing to do with this article, but I heard that there was a funnel cloud over Broadlands last Thursday during that nasty storm. Did anyone submit photos?
