Band leader honored in Our Town

CHARLESTON -- A community band leader is honored for more than three decades of service. The Kiwanis Park Amphitheater was named after John Daum last month. He's a founding member of the Charleston Community Band.

People of all ages, play together, including professionals. Band members say what makes him so special is how respectful he is to musicians.

Daum led the band until he got sick last summer. Band-mates say he's been a trooper and really helped transitioning for a new leader.
