DECATUR -- Police released the name of the man accused of leaving the scene of a fatal hit-and-run.

The Urbana School District has hired an Effingham law firm. It will find out why allegations about a teacher now charged with sex crimes, were not reported earlier and how the district hired him in the first place. At a special meeting this afternoon, the district appointed the Taylor Law Firm to head up an external investigation of the matter. Jon White,a second grade teacher at Thomas Paine is accused of sexually abusing three of his students. He was investigated by school administrators three months before his arrest. Authorities were never told.
