The U of I Veterinary Teaching Hospital is handing out free dental exams to service dogs.
It's part of a national program.
The exams are to make sure the service dogs aren't in pain that prevents them from doing their job.
Police, military, search-and-rescue, and guide dogs are all eligible for the program.
Appointments are on a first-come first-served basis.
To sign up, dog owners first need to register online at avdc.org and follow the link to Service Dog Oral Health Exam program.
Once you register, schedule an appointment by calling Misty Croy at 333-5859
