DECATUR -- There's a lot of rich history at the Celebration. WCIA-3's Megan Brilley takes a road trip through Our Town.

Who wouldn't want to start their day with these cuties? You can too, right here at Scovill Zoo. It was built in 1967, but started as a farm until the bears joined the family. The zoo just welcomed its 3-millionth visitor.

There's also lots of history to see.

"We never really pushed our Lincoln Heritage."

When you see this guy, do you think of Decatur?

"You know, Springfield has a lot of the buildings, Lincoln's home and that, and we had the courthouse."

Macon County was Lincoln's first stop when his family came to Illinois. He made his first political speech right here.

"He was always coming back through Decatur and Macon County."

Whew! Enough history, I'm getting hungry. Mmm. If you've never had a burger at Krekel's, trust me when I say, it needs to be number one on your to-do list.

"We can sell, on busy days, between 600 - 800 hamburgers."

"I've been eating here for years."

They've got your sweet tooth covered too.

"Those sprinkles. You just can't have it without that."

From rich history to a fun family day at the zoo to a hometown meal, we've got you covered in Our Town Decatur.
