DECATUR -- When you hear Abraham Lincoln, Springfield probably comes to mind. But, our 16th president actually got his start in Our Town Decatur.

Lincoln was 21 when his family first came to Illinois. Their first stop was Macon County. Abe practiced law in Decatur. The town still keeps up the original courthouse where he worked.

Lincoln also made his first political speech here. Town historians say Decatur is a key part of Lincoln's past, even though it's left out of most history books.

You can find Lincoln statues all over town. It has the third largest collection in the world behind Springfield and Washington D.C.
