DANVILLE -- You can check hot air ballooning off your bucket list right here in Central Illinois. Four pilots, four crews and four balloons all giving us a unique look of Our Town.

"This is a fun activity we like to do with our friends and family," said Dean Carlton.

He is a pilot with the Ca-Zoo Hot Air Balloon Team.

"The balloon used to say Milwaukee County Zoo. We took the Milwaukee County off so it just said the zoo in 15' high letters. She looked at it said, 'Well, we're the Carlton's so that must be the Carlton Zoo,' and she shortened it to Ca-Zoo. The name stuck," said Carlton.

Carlton has been going up, up and away since 1997 probably because he has made such good friends along the way.

"Worldwide there are very few balloonists. So it's kind of a micro-sport and when you find other people who are interested in your activity, then we kind of bond together. Well, Danville is kind of a small community but it has a huge balloon population relative to its size and because of the beauty we have to fly in, you know we'll get people from other counties to come fly with us, sometimes other states," said Carlton.

Carlton says his family balloon mostly for fun but you can catch a ride with them. Click here to find out more.
