Police Say Deadly Accident Should Be Lesson For Parents

Updated: February 8, 2007
Fatal AccidentPolice say all parents can learn a lesson from an accident that killed a seven-month-old baby. It happened Wednesday night about 10 miles south of Effingham. Police say the driver, 20-year-old Tasha Fancher, may have hit a slick spot and lost control. Her baby, seven-month-old Shelby Cameron was thrown from the vehicle. Fancher was ticketed for not having the baby secured in a child seat. Illinois State Police just started a new statewide push to teach parents about child safety seat laws. Every child under eight must be in one in Illinois.
