Whether you are throwing a party or bringing a dish to pass, you need to
remember some food safety tips to make sure no one goes home sick.
Fruit-sicles!
1-2 quarts Strawberries
1-2 pints blueberries or blackberries
1 Banana
¼ cup sugar
Optional: peaches, nectarines, pineapple
Wash all berries and remove stems from strawberries. Dice and place strawberries into min-food processor. Process until smooth add approximately 2 teaspoons sugar per quart of berries. Pour into popsicle molds and place on tops. Freeze 6 hours or overnight. Process blackberries the same and add 2 teaspoons sugar to the blended berries and process. Make sure to strain blackberries to remove seeds before pouring into the mold.
To make red, white and blue popsicles, mash up banana in a separate bowl and set aside. Start layering popsicle mold with about 1/3 of the strawberry puree first, then about 1 tablespoon of the mashed banana and then top with the blackberry puree. Place on tops and freeze 6 hours or overnight.
