CHAMPAIGN -- Our Town Champaign is this week. See what places we will be featuring in one of Illinois' twin cities. Champaign has many places where you can go to lift your spirits and the Alto Vineyard is one of them.

"Wine is an nice, social, romantic, poetic drink. It can foster relationships," says Ryan Dubnicek, the manager there.

However this winery has a rich history. One man, started it decades ago despite the odds. We'll introduce you to the family that's kept it going.

You'll meet Jill Knappenberger..who's been a go-getter for more than 90 years.

"All the women were staying home and making babies or rolling bandages and I wanted to do something a little different," says Jill Knappenberger.

That's why she signed up as a red cross volunteer. Find out how her experiences in World War Two shaped her into the woman is today.

"The Staerkel Planetarium is the second largest planetarium in the state of Illinois and one of the largest community college planetariums in the country," says David Leake, the executive director.

Hidden on Parkland's college campus is a portal to the stars. We'll introduce the William Starkel Planetarium, and show you why thousands flock here year round to gaze.

From  gazing to grazing.

"It's a little Latino Nuevo, a little Latin flare. Something different, but delicious," says a bartender at Escobar's.

See why the flare at Escobar's restaurant, and many other places are worth a trip to Our Town Champaign.
