Stolen laptopsStudents at the University of Illinois thought their laptop computers were safe in a room with other students. But they were wrong. University of Illinois Police Investigator Rebecca Lauher says it's not uncommon for items to be stolen when their left unattended. The two laptops were stolen Wednesday morning, January 17th inside the Roger Adams Lab building. One student was using a blue Toshiba laptop and another was using a blue Dell laptop. They stepped out of the room and when they came back, the computers were gone. Lauher says, "The room was locked, but a lot of people were in and out of the room, so someone could've just walked in while the door was unlocked." If you have any information, you're asked to call Champaign County Crimestoppers at 217-373-TIPS. You don't have to give your name or testify in court and a reward is offered.
