Flying Helicopters

There are few who could deny that Stan Foster has one of the most unique hobbies.  How many people do you know who have a rotorcraft parked in their garage?

Even if you're not an aviation buff, watching someone operate this powerful piece of machinery with such finesse is awe inspiring.

So how on Earth does someone from Central Illinois delve into the world of home-made helicopters?

The Turbinator is one of many rotorcrafts Stan has built.  One simply has to order a kit, wait for the parts to be shipped, and piece it together.  Easy, right?

Maybe we'll leave the hand crafted stuff to Stan, for now.

And being the good meteorologist that I am, I had to ask about these familiar symbols being sported on the cabin.

The sky is the limit for Stan and his copters.  The Turbinator has over 2000 hours of flying time left in it, meaning he'll be able to fly it for years and years to come.  Great news for Stan, but maybe bad news for his neighbors.
