The University of Illinois students who posted online threats over Chief Illiniwek will not face charges. Champaign County State`s Attorney Julia Rietz says it was not a crime because the threats were not made directly to the Native American student targeted. One threat posted read "I say we throw a tomahawk in her face." At least three students were questioned in connection with the threats. Chief opponents say it is an insult that they will not face charges. The University of Illinois can still punish the students.
