Updated: February 7, 2012
watch video
Each year the Christie Clinic needs thousands of volunteers to pull off the enormous community event.
Kate Rear is the assistant volunteer coordinator. She overseas all of the non-course volunteers and says helping out is a great way to get involved with the race if you're not up for running, or you're not able to run in the events.
To see what volunteer opportunities are available, or to sign up, you can do so at the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon website.
