The Downstate Illinois Innocence Project is fighting for justice. It's hoping to get convictions dropped against a man who died in prison. Grover Thompson was serving time for attempted murder. He's accused of trying to kill Ida White. She was stabbed repeatedly in her home. Thompson was convicted of the crime even though police had little evidence. In 2007, another man admitted to the crime. Now the group is asking the state to exonerate Thompson.
