1981 - Illinois had a three day winter weather event which brought freezing rain on this date and very heavy snow on the 22nd. Snow totals were over 8 inches in an area from Lincoln southwest to Jacksonville. 5 to 6 inches of snow were reported as far east as Champaign. The snow tapered off sharply to the south and north, with 1 inch or less north of Peoria and south of I-70.Temperature Information
