Get Ready Now to Exercise Outdoors, Prevent Injury

You can change your workout now to prevent injuries when you start running and exercising outside. Outdoor exercising can be harder on your body as you run on different surfaces and have to work against the elements. Here`s Tony Wetzel`s advice from The Fitness Center in Champaign: Differences between Treadmills, Indoor Bikes, Ellipticals and outdoor activities Outdoor Running/walking is higher impact than treadmills and ellipticals Outdoor cycling, running/walking: you must work against and with the wind, and terrain Wearing proper attire for outdoor is different than indoor (clothing and shoes) Know your surface: Proper shoes for your chosen running/walking surface Dress according to the weather: Hot days wear clothing that wisks sweat, not clothing that holds sweat to your body Keep water handy
