Frozen puff pastry dough allowed to sit a at room temperature for 10 minutes.
For the tart filling:
2 cups diced apple
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
For the streusel topping:
½ cup of sugar
½ cup flour
¼ cup of butter or margarine at room temperature
For the icing:
¼ cup cream or milk
1 ½ cup powdered sugar
½ teaspoon on pure vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cut puff pastry dough into 5" circles.
With a cup or other round object, made a 4" circle indentation in the center of each 5" dough circle, being careful not to cut through the dough.
Mix the apple, pecans, sugar & cinnamon and spoon the mixture into the center of each tart, keeping the filling inside the 4" circle indentation.
Mix the ingredients to make the streusel topping and sprinkle on top of the tarts
Place the tarts in the oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
While the tarts are baking, mix the ingredients for the icing.
Once the tarts are finished baking, drizzle the icing over the tarts while still warm.
