Updated: August 30, 2008
As the deadline approaches (5:00 pm Saturday) for NFL teams to make their final roster cuts, it appears a former Illini star is on his way out of Minnesota. Defensive end Chris Norwell, who had previously been cut by the Patriots, was informed by the Vikings on Friday night that hed be cut when the official announcement was made on Saturday. No word yet on Norwells next move. Another former Illini trying to make the team in Minnesota, J Leman, was also cut by the Vikings on Saturday.
