Local Group to Block Ameren Rate Hike

The Citizens Utility Board, AARP Illinois, and the attorney general's office met at the Champaign Public Library this morning. The groups are protesting Ameren's rate hike request. Today's hearing was to announce findings from state regulators which show how Ameren's $90 million rate hike request should be slashed. They suggest customers get a rate cut instead. There's a formal hearing before a judge next week. To voice your opinion, send a message to the Illinois Commerce Commission opposing the hike:
