Illinois survives Jackson State, wins 76-55

The Illinois basketball team survived a scare from Jackson State on Wednesday night. But the Illini prevailed, 76-55. Illinois trailed by as many as 14 points in the second half, but rallied to tie the game at 34 at the break. Illinois cruised in the second half, shooting 74-percent from the floor. Warren Carter led Illinois with 16-points and 15-rebounds for the first double-double of his career. Shaun Pruitt added 15-points while Calvin Brock and Chester Frazier both had 14. Illinois improves to 2-0 on the season. The Illini are home against Georgia Southern on Friday night.
