Updated: January 7, 2009
Five turnovers, three of them by Illini quarterback Juice Williams sent Illinois to its sixth straight loss. Purdue capitalized on four Illini turnovers on five plays in the second half, scoring 28 second half points en route to a 42-31 win at Memorial Stadium. The Boilermakers` victory has them bowl eligible with seven wins. Juice Williams ran for a career-high 145 yards and first career touchdown, but threw an interception and fumbled the ball away at critical junctures. His first half fumble was recovered for touchdown.
