Illini women`s soccer opens NCAA play strong

The Illinois women`s soccer team opened NCAA tournament play with a 2-0 win over Southeast Missouri State on Friday night in a game played at St. Louis. Paula Faherty and Jackie Santacaterina each scored goals for Illinois. Lindsey Carstens had seven saves in goal for her eleventh shut-out the year. Illinois faces the winner of St. Louis/Drake in round number-two on Sunday.
