A park in Watseka that has been around for generations just got a facelift. The legion raised money for a new playground. They raised $30 thousand for the equipment and volunteers helped put it together.

The fundraising is well appreciated by the entire community.

"It does keep the community here. Travel of course gets more expensive, gas as we all know and they have these facilities right here, they really don't have to travel too far," says Leon Phingsten, the Park Board Chairman

There are all sorts of things to do at the park besides the playground, like baseball, banquets, swimming and fishing.
