Alaeze leaves Illini football

Updated: January 7, 2009
Illinois defensive end Melving Alaeze has left the Illini football program. He contributed one sack in two games played this season as a freshman. The University says Alaeze has left the team due to personal reasons. "I`m not trying to keep anything from you, but because of the law I can`t really comment on it, other than to say that he has withdrawn from school," head coach Ron Zook said. "I like Melvin; I love him a lot. He`s a great guy, and I wish the best for him. I hope everything works out for him."
