Cubs place Derrek Lee on disabled list

Updated: January 7, 2009
The Chicago Cubs placed first baseman Derrek Lee on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a fractured distal ulna and distal radius in his right wrist. Lee`s injury occurred in a collision with Rafael Furcal in Wednesday`s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is expected to miss 8-12 weeks of action. In other moves, the team selected outfielder Michael Restovich from Triple-A Iowa and transferred pitcher Wade Miller from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Restovich signed with the Cubs in the off-season as a minor league free agent, and opened the season with Iowa, batting .333 with five doubles, a pair of home runs and 10 RBI. Miller was originally placed on the DL on April 1 for continued rehabilitation after surgery on his right shoulder.
