Our Town: Temple Plaza in Danville
Updated: June 21, 2011
The old Masonic Temple was around for almost a century, but a fire in the 80's left the Temple Building empty.
After demolition in 2001.. the original plan was to make it a parking lot.
Now it's a great place for people to relax and admire the beautiful brick sculpture featuring people of Danville's past.
There's also the original archway that was saved during demolition.
The entire project cost about $400,000. There are concerts at the plaza every other Friday night. They draw in so many people the streets have to be blocked off.
