This week we're packing our bags and heading to Our Town Gibson City. There's a need in the community and across the county. Families are going hungry. But that's about to change because the Eastern Illinois Foodbank is stepping up.

It's teamed up with two Ford County churches to make sure food was reaching all homes. A mobile pantry has been a life support for over a year.
Southern Ford County doesn't have a permanent food pantry. That's why workers say this unit is critical.
Every other month it sets up shop at at Gibson City church so about 150 families can buy all the staples. The other months it's in Paxton.

The Foodbank hopes to have a pantry in this part of the county next year.   In the meantime the mobile unit will continue to make the rounds.
