Kids in Arthur helped raise money for St. Jude Hospital.
"To put a name and a face with it really hit home for us here at Arthur, it became more personal," said principal, Buck Condill.Kindergartner, Max Duzan, was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia last fall.
"I felt sad, that he was sick," said student, Benjamin Condill.
"You know everybody was just concerned and worried and wanted to make sure that he got what he needed, and he did right away," said principal Condill.
Max is at St.
Jude Hospital
in Memphis
getting treatment, and his road to recovery has inspired other kids to help out
in a big way.
"I went around and almost everywhere I went I brought the thing that you ask people to sign and I asked almost all my family," said student Condill.
About 100 kids raised almost $5,000 for St. Jude.
"I think the kids stepped up they knew it was a great cause, they knew it helped Max and wanted to help more," said principal Condill.
No one appreciates the support more than Duzan's older brother Ty.
"Because my brother and I know a lot of people in St. Jude that need help and they need people to donate to get certain things they need to help and get better," said brother, Ty Duzan.
"That he can get all better and um not get cancer again," said student Condill.
Although Max wasn't there, his spirit was and his friends are eager to see him.
