A bus driver hits a snowman in the middle of the street. Now he's out of a job.
The former bus driver says MTD told him there could have been someone behind the snowman or something inside it.
But the bus driver says he saw two cars almost crash. In a snap decision, he decided to run it over.
The viral video of the event has gotten over 10,000 hits since it was posted Saturday.
You can see cars swerving around the snowman on the icy roads.
The bus driver says he passed through that street several times that day and saw kids making it.
He was afraid someone would get into an accident and decided to get it out of the way.
The MTD wouldn't comment on the event.

If the driver had no prior discipline, he should contact an attorney and sue for wrongful termination.

Where were the police? Why didn't the city take care of this? I agree with the comment before, the kids need charged! Where did the need to teach our kids respect for people leave and be replaced with "hey it's funny to us" take it's place. Seriously the guy needs his job back and a reward for saving the city money for keeping an accident from happening and the city being sued! If everyone is so afraid for someone being in or around the snowman then why wasn't it investigated by the police and removed by them! Hello, that's their job too! Mr. Bus Diver, thank you for your service and for saving everyone who was in danger.

Im a college student myself and what those students did was just plan stupid 1.) it could of gotten someone hurt 2) Could of totalled out a car 3) The bus driver got fired for someone people who were doing something stupid.
Sure hope the kids think its funny that someone got fired over the deal but anymore people just dont care what there actions cause to others and thats the sad part of all of it. It sucks this guy had to lose his job around Christmas and I kind of wish some charges get pressed against the college kids that were involved and maybe over christmas break they can shovel sidewalks on campus by hand instead of goin out and gettin drunk and doin other stupid things.
