police badgePolice in Danville want your help targeting problems in town this summer. Extra officers will be patrolling the streets during the evening and overnight hours to help in problem areas. The department is also adding enforcement based on specific concerns from the community. Police say neighbors can expect more enforcement during summer months. There will be a few extra officers on the streets but for the most part they will be targeting certain areas where there is a history of trouble. Danville Police Officer, Jane McFadden says, “We'll have extra patrols out during peak hours because the volume of calls for service are so high in the summer time.” McFadden says there are two types of patrols: Supplemental, which will help lighten the load for other cops on duty during peak call hours. The other is problem oriented, which will be used to help patrol high crime areas in the city. D-P-D says the patrols will start soon.
